社，唐代以来地方的最小行政单位。社公，即土地公。翻看过往的个人短片时，我发现不经意间将社公剪辑到成片中。祂勾起了我的回忆。于是我多次前往家乡广东顺德，对伦教镇东西部的村落中60多个社公进行映像纪录。我想探讨这一中国传统民间信仰是如何植根地缘，植入个人记忆，塑造群体行为。 Se (Commune) is the smallest administrative unit since Tang Dynasty. Se Gung is also known as Soil-Ground or Lord of the Soil. I have found that I captured and edited Soil-Grounds in my video works unconsciously. That made me recall something. So I have got back to my hometown Shuntak, Kwangtung several times to shoot and record over 60 Soil-Grounds in Lunkao Town’s eastern and western villages. I want to explore how such a traditional Chinese folk belief roots geographically, imbeds in one’s memory, and shapes population’s behaviour.
